Is Air New Zealand looking at new routes and a new type?

Is Air New Zealand looking at new routes and a new type? Cessna 185 ZK-JKL sporting a koru at the start of the NZ Air Safari at Ardmore on the 23rd of July 2010... so what do you think...

a) Hokitika-Westport?
b) Timaru-Oamaru?
c) Napier-Gisborne?
d) Whakatane-Wanganui?
...after all it's only 20 years or so ago that they operated these routes with Friendships!

  1. Could be, although I'd be betting on a fleet of Boeing Stearman aircraft - they have a longer standing relationship with the supplier :-)

  2. This particular aircraft is being flown in the Air Safari by three Senior Air New Zealand Captains hence the Koru.

  3. Well, there goes my "theory" :-)

  4. Maybe the three senior captains are route-proving... but I like the sound of a Boeing Stearman!
