Apache Airliners

The Piper Pa22 Apache was used by a number of small airlines, always on VFR operations. These are some photos of Apaches from Allan Woollers collection...


James Aviation used ZK-BYB to run services to and from Rotorua on behalf of NAC...  (see http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.co.nz/2010/06/nac-apache.html)
 
ZK-BLP, seen here at Mangare was used by Northland Airways for its services to Whangarei. It was later used by Golden Coast Airways (see http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.co.nz/2011/03/from-hamilton-to-greymouth-golden-coast.html and http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.com/2011/03/golden-coast-airlines-greymouth.html) and Phoenix Airways between Greymouth and Christchurch (see http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.co.nz/2011/03/first-trans-alpine-air-service-phoenix.html)

Also used by Golden Coast and later the Nelson Aero Club was ZK-CHU seen here at Omaka. The Nelson Aero Club used it for the newspaper service to Karamea and Westport.

ZK-BYX was used by Midland Air Services for its flights from Palmerston North to Dannevirke, Napier and Gisborne. It is photographed at Palmerston North (see http://3rdlevelnz.blogspot.co.nz/2012/03/middle-districts-aero-clubs-airline.html)
